Hi Sarah:

http://www.copfs.gov.uk/

I got onto OK, but if it still doesn't work, try a search for Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service - probably best done through http://uk.yahoo.com/

Hope it works for you,
Frances

Hi all
I can reach the site ok, but it's the following bit I'm stuck with:
If you click on the "Unclaimed Advertised Estates Fallen to the Crown" at the left hand side of the Home page, it will take you to a list of these Estates back to about 2003.
Not seeing any menu item matching the above on the LHS of the homepage.

Best wishes
Lesley

Ah, well done that man! I had a rummage round the site earlier, but just felt like I was going round and round in circles and getting nowhere!

I googled for "Unclaimed Advertised Estates Fallen to the Crown" to find the page.

There is an indicator at the top of the webpage that shows the links you would have had to follow to reach that one. It is not one of the routes that I had tried, and in my mind, is not obvious.

All the best,

AndrewP

After reading all your posts I started to wonder once again who got my grandmother's share of the 100 acre farm in Ontario Canada. She died just after the War ended if I remember correctly. I tried searching this years ago and abandoned it after being told all records in the Town Offices were lost in a fire!
