What a collective wealth of information you have here!
Thank you Andrew for the Ordinance maps. Guess I never got close enough to read that fine print. What a surprise to zoom in and see Nairnshire right where Ferrintosh is. I never would have guessed that. How strange (but understandable I guess) the way things were divided up. And how confusing for us trying to track people down.
And Annette thanks for the clarification of Wonka2's message. I was totally looking in the wrong place!
PS I guess Ruth should be just about crawling out of bed right now in Australia. Gotcha back!

Does anyone live in the Drumnadrochit/Lewiston area that can check out headstones in the local cemetary? Lewsiton's so small I hope there's only one cemetary! I'm hoping Malcom/Malcolm McDonald and Mary McKenzie are buried there. Maybe even a reference to Malcolm's first wife (Mary was #2). Malcolm and Mary were married by Rev. D. Smith in 1820 if that helps locating the correct church and graveyard any.
Many, many thanks for ANY assistance.

Re: McDonald/McKenzie
Goodness, I see I haven't 'been here' since end of 2008.
Well, I think (?) I have found the elusive couple Stephen and I have been searching for for ages!! I'll list the details I have found and perhaps people could kindly verify if I am heading in the right direction on the right tram!!!
I had always thought that Malcolm's date of birth could have been wrong as he remarried in 1821 as widower, and a 1795 birth doesn't really give him much time between wives.
However, I have followed up on the 1841 Census details someone kindly posted and I think that this is the correct Malcolm....and the Ann McDonald on that Census age 40, is his dau. by his first wife Janet, ( Ann b. 18.10.1801).
Malcolm was born 16 June, 1789 Tulloch, Dingwall, R. & C.(TWIN) with bro. John, to Alexander McDonald/Betty Reid (they married 1 Jan., 1750 Tulloch, Dingwall). Other siblings were Janet b.16.4.1770, died 25.3.1794; Kathrine b.3.12.1772; Joseph b. 7.5.1778; Jean b. 8.6.1788 all born in Tulloch, Dingwall (father Alex was 'tennant, Tulloch'). MALCOLM's first marriage was to: Janet McDonald of Moy (b. 16.3.`1760 Bellie, Fochaber, parents William McDonald/Margaret Sinclair). Their children were: Grizel b.18.4.1789 (@ looks like Gsemend), Urquhart/Glenmoriston (which parish then also covered Moy apparently); William b. 1.12.1791 Moy, d. 15.3.1804 Bellie, Fochaber; Isabel b.26.6.1794 Moy; Barbra b.2.5.1796 Moy; Ann B.18.10.1801 Moy.
Not sure of correct death date of Janet McDonald, but Malcolm remarried as Widower 1 Jan., 1820 Lewiston to Mary McKenzie, of Fodderty, Parish of Ferrintosh. I have found a birth for Mary Mackenzie 23.2.1790 at Fodderty, father Wm. Mackenzie C.11065-2. 990582. I also traced back the Murdoch McKenzie who was on 1871 Census (age 78) living at Cullicudden, Resolis with his nephew Murdoch McDonald (son of Mary McKenzie), and I have found a birth for Murdoch 1.12.1793 to William McKenzie/ Katherine Paterson, same numbers of film as Mary. Also death for Murdo McKenzie at Cullicudden, Resolis 20.4.1873 (80 yrs.) & nephew Murdo Mc Donald was witness on certificate. Sorry to be so long-winded but does this look right? Re: McDonald/McKenzie
Getting a bit late - see I also left out Malcolm/Janet's marriage date:- 29 June, 1788- Malcolm "from Bunloit" and Janet, dau.to Wm. McDonald, of Moy.
