Like Lesley says the Stake nets poles are still there.

I don't remember my Granda being away for spawning - that would take place far up river and this fishery is at the river mouth end. Most of these fisheries have gone now, I think the Spey stopped around 1994-6 from memory. End of an era - my family had been Salmon fishers there since before 1768 :cry:

Freecen is great for cross referencing things - and cheaper to search for the years that have covered so far, so you can find the exact image on SP
I wish I knew about this before spending a small fortune on SP!
You live and learn I suppose.

Thanks to all for the very valuable contributions and insight into the salmon fishing industry. I am amazed where some of these threads get to sometimes :D
