Re: TS is back! & long may it stay that way.
Greetings again.
Perhaps now is a good time for TS Admin, to be reviewing it’s risk management strategies, and support, for the technical support team. It’s a big call for one person to be carrying the load, and possibly a good thing that Andrew uses public transport, to get to his day job.
One of my volunteer positions, involves supervising teams of people working under pressure and long hours [one week a year] to deliver what appears to be a seamless service, in an extremely sensitive service area.
We can no longer afford the old “she’ll be right” attitude of 30 years ago. We now have to have back up contingency plans, and all involved must have deemed appropriate training and support services. Otherwise both individually, and corporately, we become exposed to good governance issues, liability issues. insurance issues, and the possibility of a gross financial failure, of the event we take such pride in annually running.

If only. My work is 22 miles from home, and there is no direct public transport that would get me there in a sensible time. It would take over 2 hours, by walking the first ¾ miles, then a bus to the city centre, and a bus out to the town where I work. I am not about to leave the house before 6am to try and get to work by 8am. I drive the 22 miles, and it normally takes 20 to 25 minutes each way.Alan SHARP wrote:..., and possibly a good thing that Andrew uses public transport, to get to his day job.
All the best,

Oh Andrew, once again my memory is letting me down. I felt that on one of the many occasions, that I have challenged the early morning hour that you have been working on line, you referred to a train ride to work. With so little sleep, please do take care on the road. I once had our Societies General Manager, politely ask for my communications radio, and assigned others to cover for me, when things were not running as smoothly as we would have liked; with me also in control of a heavy vehicle, and another day fast approaching.

Gosh - I kept looking and nothing was happening - and of course when I went stopped checking for a few days - everything was happening.
Dear Andrew - thank you so very much - I was seriously missing all thing Scottish not to mention Alan's finds from centuries past.
So pleased to be back
Trish

...and word is thankfully spreading. Just heard over on Rootschat that normal service had been resumed.

Glad to be back with friends! I still read along though I haven't had much to say lately!
Can't seem to stay logged in even though I kept checking the box. Anyone else having this problem?
Not that signing in is a big problem each time.

I'm not managing to stay logged in either. Everything looks OK at my end, with TS cookies allowed, but it seems like it isn't setting them at present.

I'm having the same issue - teething problems though I think. But not a problem to me to log in each time either.
