Dear GenetrixGenetrix wrote:Hi Mb: Oh my, I do seem to be ruffling your feathers! If so, I apologise. I only mentioned Burke's Peerage because I had previously googled the Campbells of Inverawe and the Burke's Peerage site came up. I assumed the people listed were Peers of the Realm not just landed gentry. Obviously, my mistake. Frankly, I've lost interest in this crowd since they're not, I repeat not, my ancestors. My original message only brought this up because I'd found a couple of trees on Ancestry that included one of my ancestors (Ann Campbell) where my tree had hit a brick wall but they had gone back for many more generations which included all those Campbells of Inverawe. I did mention I had not accepted these people as family. In fact, being a McDonald I'd rather not have any Campbells on my tree, however I've come across a few on other lines. I do hope this puts the subject of Inverawe to bed now.
No feathers ruffled here.
I was just concerned from some many posts ago that you understood the situation properly and fully, since you didn't appear to have 'cottoned on' earlier despite several comprehensive answers to your previous posts providing extensive, relevant information.
That would have been neat to have been emphasized a few posts earlier.Frankly, I've lost interest in this crowd since they're not, I repeat not, my ancestors

Re: Is it just me
mb: If you'd bothered to read my May 17th post properly, you'd see I did say they weren't related to my tree. My whole purpose in joining this discussion was my complaint that other people who had the Inverawe crowd connected to my Ann Campbell didn't respond to my request for proof of the connection. It was their trees that referred to Earls of Inverawe, etc. Can't for the life of me understand why you think I need your help "cottoning on" as you put it. I think you just like to rant.

I have to very humbly apologise that I hadn't realised that there was no connection to your tree, - a reread of your 17May2012 post does, I admit and agree, indicate some doubt about such a possible connection, but doesn't, for me, confirm that there was no relation at all to your tree .....
Regardless, however, of that that aspect, I took on board your queries, and invested some time in providing answers, following which, I note, very sadly, that I haven't ever received a single word of thanks, despite the several iterations involved.
If my Thurs 31stMay post was seen by you as a 'rant' I can only apologise as it was not intended as such, but rather an expression of my frustration that the information that I was doing my very best to get across to you didn't seem to have been successful.
I will happily give you names of very many posters on TS and other similar groups over the last 26 years who know that I reserve any 'rants' that I occasionally make for much more serious situations.
Please don't bother replying to this post.
