Me too. Don't stay logged in. More worrying for me (since I am condemned to longish spells away from the computer nowadays) is that I can't find a link to "new posts since your last visit". This was brilliant for me and I am wondering if I am doing something wrong or not seeing a link that is there. I kept getting recurring "web page expired" earlier on today too. Oh dear. Like another poster, I have not been able to do so much participating in the last year or so, but do treasure the site and watch when I can.

Any advice most welcome.

It's still there,
on the Board Index page
view unanswered * unread * new * active *

directly above the first bright blue section with notice board

I can't stay logged in either - glad it's not just me,
though my PC remembers my password, I still have to put in my user name.

It's good to be back though [yes]

I'm trying Wilma, honest! ](*,)

I cannow find "unanswered" (thank you) but nothing else except "new topics". I don't really want "unanswered" or new topics, just want to see everyithing that has been going on since my last visit.

When I tried to reply to you I had to re-sign in, then it went to page expired, then I back arrowed and I got "enter your message".

Greetings.

When first returning to the site, I too found that the space I normally clicked, to see the new posts across the board since my last visit, appeared to be not working. Then on closer examination decided, the order had changed or that one extra option had been added to the choices. On my computer they show up thus:-

It is currently Fri Mar 30, 2012 8:49 am

View unanswered posts • View unread posts
View new posts View active topics Mark forums read

So the one coloured red above is the one I go for now. It shows the threads not previously visited. The last option comes up blank for me.

Hi Alan

I only have "View unanswered posts and view active topics" No other options appear and a click on active topics shows "no active topics".

Pity, but maybe it will all be ok tomorrow.

Lorna,
I think I have figured out what may be going on. Like you, I was not seeing all the options, so I went into the user control panel and changed my board preferences from subsilver2 to prosilver and the extra links reappeared on the index page. Were you also using subsilver2 as your board style? Otherwise, I find it easy enough just to look at the posts that have a different color to the icon next to them, showing that I haven't yet read them.

As for the login problem... we are all having it. Andrew says there are still some "wrinkles" that he will be taking care of as he finds the time. Poor man has to do the ironing as well, it seems! So be patient and it will eventually be worked out.

All the best,
Sarah

He hasn't been allowed much of one lately! I think we can gladly give him the time to catch up with his life before getting around to "ironing out the wrinkles" in the new forum software :D We're all back online, which is what counts - Whew! =D>

I don't visit or contribute now as much as I'd like but I'm DELIGHTED Talking Scot is still here (wherever HERE is). Well done, Andrew, for the Database Dumps, MySQL schema downloads and faultless integration into the new site.

I know your backside must have been making buttons before and during the transfer - a wee whisky is in order now. FANTASTIC JOB!!!!!!!!
Searching for Keogh, Kelly, Fitzgerald, Riddell, Stewart, Wilson, McQuilkin, Lynch, Boyle, Cairney, Ross, King, McIlravey, McCurdy, Drennan and Woods (to name but a few).

Also looking for any information on Rathlin Island, County Antrim, Ireland.
