I'm Stuck

Post by Miss Poohs » Sat Jan 12, 2008 11:14 pm

and I can'nae see the woods for the trees I think.

Can someone on the outside looking in offer any suggestions?

I've been delving into the Bonnar (Bonar, Bonner??) family history for a while now and there are still a couple I'm struggling with.

One of them is a Lizzie Bonner who mysteriously surfaces on the 1891 census, as the daughter of James Bonner (aged 17).

I've found most if not all of the other Bonnar birth certs but I can't find Lizzies.

I've looked for marriage and death certs for her too and can't find anything.

Can anyone suggest any routes I've missed out?
Beveridge, Bonnar, Burns,Candlin, Colquhoun, Dewar,Graham,Hislop,Jackson & Robertson.
Martin & Nelson - all Liverpool
Allison, Beaton, MacLean, McLuskie & Todd.
Grant, McEwan, McLean & Syme.

If the parents were unmarried, have you found her mother's surname? Lizzie could be registered by her mother's surname for birth, marriage and death, even though she appeared with the father's surname on the census.

A few minutes later...

Am I reading your question correctly? Who is age 17? James the father, or Lizzie the daughter?

All the best,

Sorry Andrew it's Lizzie who is 17 - that's what I can't understand, because up until and after 1891, there isn't a peep of her.

Strange :?

I got her - she was infact born in 1884 which would have made her 7 in 1891 not 17!!
