findlay from banff

I am interested in finding out more information on the Findlays from Banff.

Jane Dawson born 1836
Father David Dawson b 1793
Mother Margaret Findlay b 1807
Margarets parents are
Alexander Findlay b 1783
Sophie (no ms yet) b 1784

Do you recognise any of these names?

Sorry I don't recognize any of your names.

I did have a look around IGI (as I'm sure you did yourself) but didn't come up with anything. Maybe if we revive your post and bring it to the forefront someone might be able to help...always new members joining TalkingScot! Good luck!

Hi Helen,

Alexander Findlay and Sophie are on the 1841 Census on Ancestry along with John Dawson age 3. Also, David Dawson and Margaret with children Jane, John, Burns, and Richard are on the 1851 Census again on Ancestry.

Do you have these records already?
