First let me say hello to all as I've been absent for a while. I'm afraid I took a bit of a scunner to all this lark and gave myself a break for a while. I would akin it to an overdose. I had to get back to the 21st Century for a wee while, but I'm fine now.
So back to business.
I've just unearthed a death cert. for a GGG Aunt's son, which gives his deceased father's occupation as having been a 'School Drill Instructor". His father spent many years in the Cameron Highlanders, and he was born on the Isle Of Wight where his father had been stationed. His fathers death cert has occupation as 'Army Pensioner'.
Now comes the possibly stupid question.
This may sound a bit silly, but did he 'drill' school children or soldiers. There's a little bit of a difference.
If anyone is still with me, and hasn't lost the will to live over this, give me your thoughts.
Christine
