Hi Rob,

http://www.medterms.com/script/main/art ... lekey=5612

A guess on my part is the cause of death might be from High Blood Pressure a.k.a. "heartattack"

Regards
Marilyn

Hi Rob,
Syncope just means loss of consciousness (or :-$ loss of a word-internal vowel in linguistics  ) so it really doesn't tell you WHY she suddenly lost consciousness and never regained it. Marilyn may be right that it was a heart-attack. It's like those infant deaths where the cause of death is "teething" Again, doesn't really tell you what went wrong.

Regards,
Srh

The fact it was recorded as "sudden" would make me think that it was not an underlying chronic condition which caused the syncope in the first place.
Possibily SADS-Sudden Adult Death Syndrome where they do not know cause of death.Cardiomyopathy-another killer of mainly young adults.

Was it signed by a Dr?

Hi Rob
As it is described as a sudden loss of consciousness, I would hazard a guess that it was a Cerebral Vascular Accident (CVA/Stroke) this is usually thought to be an older persons incident, but it does happen to much younger people who may have an underlying/hidden medical condition that may suddenly cause death. I cant recall offhand names but just recently I recall seeing reports where young persons suddenly died for no apparent reason, but were found to have either breathing issues or blood vessels in the brain just waiting to burst.

Do you mean an aneurysm Stew? I never even thought of that one.
Yes many people have this in-born defect which can rupture at any time with no or little warning.
Even today it is often fatal or at the least debillitating.
