Hi Thomsos,
In 1891 the inhabitants of 13 McEwan St (according to Ancestry) were Hugh Thomson, 44, born Glasgow, Boot Moulder and George Thomson, 14, Son, born Glasgow, Butcher's Apprentice
Maybe some of our members will know if this used to be a street.
Regards,
Sarah
P.S. Someone else has a record of a birth on McEwan Street in 1923

I found McEwan Street in a book I have about old villages of Glasgow. It was very near Parkhead Cross. It ran between Burgher Street and Helenvale Street, both of which you can find on the map. However I think there's a wee complex of new houses built there now. Here's what the book says:
"In Helenvale Street stood old Hay's farmhouse and steading with byres and barns, and McEwan's cottage with a little flower plot in front. The McEwans owned a tobacconist's business in Glasgow. McEwan Street was known as 'Juck' Street, taking its name from a game in which children threw or caught pebbles or 'jucks'.
