Have you seen this?...
here
I've just had a wee wander down Buchanan Street in Glasgow.
Some might be a bit concerned about privacy, etc, but isn't technology fantastic?
P.S. Andrew, can you shorten this link, please?

Anne!
I just did a flyover of my family addresses from Gallowgate to Diamond St and Brighton Place to Holburn and Blackfriars.
Looks like a lot of them have become either pubs or clubs!

My street and my house are there. It looks like a Thursday (the garden refuse bins are on the pavement) sometime last autumn.
Nice view of General Register House, but no view of New Register House.
Google Maps (street view) showing General Register House
All the best,
Andrew

Carol...too bad you couldn't stop in at one of those pubs while you were on your flyover.
Andrew...you have everything downpat about your refuse bins but the time of day.
I checked a couple of my ancestors streets and they seem to be mainly highways/motorways. I did see a man on Garscube Road eating what looked like an Icecream cone and two women walking towards a bus stop and talking on their phones on New City Road.
Lesley...thanks for shortening the link.
Regards,
Anne H

The house where I was born is blocked from the street by a very large bush or tree, but I recognize the houses. Off to look at the church where I was baptised!

My parent's were in the car travelling behind the van taking the pictures when they did it near them in Liverpool. I've looked, but that bit isn't on yet!
I do find it creepy. And an invasion of privacy. But totally addictive too

Heheh;
I'd imagine the building where I was born is no more 1014 Great Western Road, in a wing called 'Homeland'

My childhood home has a For Sale sign in the garden. Price on the net proves to be 1,000 times what my father paid for it and that is without a plaque outside saying I was born in the front bedroom

I read today that google has withdrawn some of the U.K Street maps because of complaints about privacy.

mayybe that's why I can't find the street where I am living now, yet I can find my daughters. She is living in the same city.
Was able to find my childhood home though.
