hi Gordon
What time frame are you looking at? There are many areas where pre-1855 MIs have been published. e.g. http://www.scotsgenealogy.com/acatalog/ ... re_MI.html

Later than that you may need to contact the local authority.

Best wishes
Lesley

Gordon,

Check what Falkirk library has, I think I saw a Clackmannan pre 1855 burials book when I was last there.

Or see what Alloa library has in the way of MI's or burial records.

Hi Lesley,I reckon I'm looking at both time periods, pre 1855 and post 1855,there seems to be a high mortality rate in children then. Thanks, Gordon

Alloa cemeteries

Gordon

I just read of your search for cemeteries in Alloa. I recently went over there to have a look for some!
There is one that is listed as Clackmannan, which is actually behind a brick wall on the road from the roundabout coming from Kincardine, along as if going to Alloa. It covers a good age and is easily walked - the stones are all in nice straight rows, seems to have a lot of Alloa folk too.

Another one is along towards Alloa College and sort of backs round a residendial area but also seems to be one of the largest.

There is another in the town centre, I think called Greensides or something like that, but is locked and you have to go to local council to get the keys. Aparently you can do this Mon - Friday 9am-4pm or something similar.

I see you are in S/muir, I'm in Larbert and it only took me about 15-20mins to get to any of the above........ I can find the addresses if you are intending going yourself?
