All the Madge's I've come across have been Marjory.

Hi Miss Poohs,

Apparently it was medieval variant of Margaret. See here...

Then too, there's Madonna who is often identified as Madge, but I don't think too many of us have the name Madonna running through our trees!

"Madonna" of course - a rich rellie at last :D

I'm not having much luck with this one.

I managed to get in touch with a rellie I didn't know about through GR (you were all right, it's deffo woth a try  )and he told me about a family related to my dear wee mummsie that I didn't know about.

It's all very hit and miss, but Madge was one of the names.

I'll keep pluggin away, ye never know.

Are you too old to be 'adopted' then, Miss Poohs?

Some trivia!
There is a Madonna lyttleton in England as far back as 1536, in fact there are 44 in UK between 1536 & 1890s alone ,only one of which is Scottish.
