Muirhouses, Pollockshaws Rd, Glasgow

Post by Ann In the UK » Mon May 11, 2009 1:24 pm

Hey,

Does anyone know anything about these houses, particularly around the 1840s.

I have a photo from a googlesearch, and I've read the piece on the Glasgow Story about them, but that's about it.

Are there any more bits tucked away online I haven't come across yet?

Regards,
Ann

Hello Ann,

I can’t find anything useful, just some references to the Muirhouses Tollbar. Here’s the book from which the GlasgowStory description was extracted, “Rambles Round Glasgow” By Hugh MacDonald, 1856.

All the best,

Thanks Alan, I really need to get into the habit of using googlebooks for this sort of thing!
