Hi all,
Does anyone local to Bonnybridge know if there was ever a cottage(s) named Kilburn or something similar? I'm having no luck locating anything with that name on the map.
I've uploaded the DC to the gallery (Deciphering) for approval for you to have a look incase it might say something else.

Hi Anne
My dad has lived in Bonnybridge all his life (born 1935) and I asked him last night but he doesn't recall the address however he has an old book somewhere which was written by a minister and it descibes old Bonnybridge. He is going to look it out and if there is any thing of interest in it i will let you know. I'm so jealous of people with relatives in far off places my whole family live within a 20 mile radius of where my gggg grandad was born in Falkirk in 1829

Hi Diane,
Thanks for asking your Dad about Kilburn Cottage. I'll bet his book has lots of interesting information in it, even if there's no mention of the cottage to be found. I love reading about the history of these places.
As to far off places...I'm the one who moved to the far-off land. I'm originally from Coatbridge where my paternal side has lived for over 150 years and before that, Ireland. My maternal side mainly came from Larbert branching out to the surrounding areas. It was only in the past year or so, after searching for about five years, that I found my gg grandfather had ended up in California with a new wife and son (unfortunately, he left his real wife and sons at home).
So, your family may not have moved very far but at least you know where they are.
Regards,
Anne H
