WorldVitalRecords.com FREEBIE

Post by Currie » Wed Aug 12, 2009 11:34 am

FREE access to all the records of worldvitalrecords.com is available for three days until midnight (midnight where?) on 13th August. Requires registration and a phone number but they didn’t give me theirs and I didn’t want to talk to them so I made one up.

They appear to have England-Wales Census, including images, for 1841, 1861, 1871, 1881, and 1891 and a variety of other stuff.

I found out about it here http://legacynews.typepad.com/legacy_ne ... st-13.html

Hope it’s useful, but be quick as there isn’t much time especially if it’s an unfamiliar database.

Alan

Hi Alan,

I found out from my Legacy newsletter too and meant to post this yesterday but was interrupted so thanks for posting, I'll look into it now.

FREE access to worldvitalrecords.com has been extended through 18 August!

Found a record in the Locomotive Engineers Journal for my Daniel Scullon.

Don't wish to grumble when looking a gift horse in the mouth but I haven't found this site all that impressive. I've managed to turn up a few small snippets, mainly US connections, but searches seem to miss very obvious trails which Ancestry would turn up in seconds.
Anyone else having any luck?

 I don't think much of it either, and I agree, it doesn't have a look in where Ancestry is concerned (even with all their strange transcriptions) but I did find that one item, so I'm happy - and it is free so can't complain.

This was great to hear and the few days I was able to use it proved to reveal one piece of info. On goes the search finally!

I tried this but never got the confirming email! (And yes I did check 'junk'.)
