Duncan was a heilanman
hello, does anyone know the words to a song a late friend of mine sang to our great delight? we called it Duncan (the heilanman) and it started "Duncan was a heilanman, he was a heilan cheil," and went on to Duncan Knockin the coo,s muck aff hes bit,s havin a dram and dancin fer the queen. Victoria I would assume. Another bit "it,s a braw bricht moonlicht nicht and yer a richt och aye ," ????????????????????????, there,s gloamins in the sky"

Hi Mull,
Sorry I don't know the song, but try the link below
http://www.paisley.org.uk/
There's a "Quiz" forum listed on the site and who knows maybe someone might come up with the answer you're looking for?
Good Luck

Sounds like a Harry Lauder type of song to me so there may be a collection on-line if you Google it.
