Robert Shaw
Good Morning. I am trying to find out as much as possible about Robert Shaw ,born about 1903 in Kilsyth. In July 1960 he was living , I believe, in Dunlop and was the station master at the railway station in Dunlop. I have details of his wife , Nellie Cleland Shaw who died in July 1960. Nellie was my grandfathers daughter and my fathers half sister and my "lost "aunty. I would love to find details of their offspring. Many thanks. Regards. Jas.

Re: Robert Shaw
Hi Jas
As this is an enquiry which deals with people who are quite recent, it may be best if anyone knows more about the post-1960 family, and any children to the couple, if they send a PM to you rather than posting names addresses and personal details on public forum.
Jas - not sure where you are based, but a day at NRH or Park Circus would probably enable you to trace forwards in time, searching for any births of children to the couple, then possible marriages for them which should give addresses, names of other family members & etc. With a certain amount of searching, and cross-referencing with phone books & etc. it is usually possible to bring things reasonably up to date, but tracing forwards is always more difficult than searching backwards in time, so allow plenty time for your searching!
Best wishes
Lesley

Re: Robert Shaw
Hello Jas,
I suppose he would have been employed by London Midland and Scottish Railways (LMS) from 1923 and by British Railways (BR) from 1948.
Maybe his employment records contain useful information. That’s if they are old enough to be open to public access. There’s a recent posting here about a Stationmaster viewtopic.php?f=53&t=9716 Search the National Archives of Scotland catalogue as well.
I’ve never been down that track myself.
All the best,
Alan
