Hi all
I was recently given some WWl correspondence which relates to Kilbarchan families. It was found in a tin box at the back of a garage and is badly damaged by age and water.
As I have not had much access to my computer recently I was able to spend some time trying to rescue as much of the documentation as possible.
Amongst the papers was a family tree which does not appear to link to any of the other material and I wondered whether any of the following names appear in the family tree of some of our members. The tree appears to have been made up sometime around 1930 but the most recent generations have been lost as the edges of the sheets have disintegrated.
Main family names are ALSTON, and GILFILLAN.

Unfortunately no place names have been included except Westermains and Cloverbank but there are hints that it is Glasgow/West of Scotland area(s).
If anyone recognises some of these names please PM me with your e-mail address and I can send you a digital copy of the document. It was too fragile to scan into the computer so the digital camera came to the rescue.

Re: Alston & Gilfillan tree
Hi Alan
I spotted that link last night but had not followed it up. She appears to link with Thomas Alston in Melbourne b 1822 who married Margaret Peacock. There seems to be a strong Alston line out there in Oz. There was a strong Alston family series around Lanarkshire in the 1800's. I was hoping to make a Scottish link to find out why this family tree would be in the back of a garage in the neighbouring village.
By the way Alan - your search skills and willingness to give so much time to TalkingScot are fantastic. Thank you
