Birkhillside/Legerwood

Trying to find info on Birkhillside Mansion House, where my GG grand mother worked/lived in the mansion, found in the 1861 census.
Described as being in good repair, the house, not her!

It's near Legerwood, in the borders, i have tried 'Googling' but not much info, just wondered if any one had any local knowledge?

Hello Susan,

That’s Birkhillside at the centre of this view, with what looks like a large brownish rectangular fenced area. Unfortunately the Google camera car went close but didn’t go up that road. At the corner where the car turned is the entrance to Birkenside.
