Back on the hunt

Post by Gordyw » Tue Mar 01, 2011 7:02 pm

Hi all, after a lengthy break away from searching ( it was doing my head in as many on this site will probably agree) I'm ready for another go.I've already found a marriage cert for a great great uncle who married in 1906,do I now need to wait until the 1911 census comes out to see if they had a family?

Hello Gordyw and welcome back!
It's not a very long wait for the 1911 census now, but, depending on how common a surname it is, you could search the births on Scotland's people from 1906 through 1910 and download them online.

All the best,
Sarah

Hi Sarah, thanks for the tip,got a result I went with the boundaries you suggested and got 11 hits but there was one obvious choice as there was a daughter born with the same name as my G.G Uncles mother...Wilhelmina Lawson Watson. Thanks again ,Gordon

Glad you got a result! In just over a month you can have a look at the 1911 census and see if there are any children you missed.

Best wishes,
Sarah
