Post by Keatley » Tue Dec 27, 2011 3:16 pm

Hi,
I'm hoping someone will be able to help me locate James Keatley in the 1911 census.

I was able to locate the rest of the family some miss transcribed as 'Keithley'
I have tried all the surname options (metaphone/fuzzy/wildcards/soundex etc) but nothing! ](*,)

Any help will be much appreciated

James Alexander Keatley
B 5th July 1891, Hutchesontown, Glasgow
D 22nd May 1972, Glasgow

Many thanks

Have you considered outside Scotland?

There is a James A Keatley in Holborn London , age is a year out but could be worth a look.

Hi Paul,
You may already know this and it shouldn't affect his presence in 1911, but James Keatley went to Canada, arriving in New Brunswick in April 1912 on the Cassandra. He arrived back in Glasgow in June, 1913 on the Hesperian from Montreal. When he went out he intended to stay, but on the return journey said he was expecting to come back to Scotland permanently. So I guess it didn't work out there.

All the best,
Sarah
