Letter's of Note....

Post by Ann In the UK » Wed Mar 28, 2012 12:24 pm

...is such a heartwarming site.

This is one of the first one's I read
http://www.lettersofnote.com/2012/01/to ... aster.html

But there are some other little crackers - love this one:

He got his reply too, eventually

Love the one called Dear 8 Year old Teresa too. And the one from Roald Dahl (see Thank you for the dream).

Best wishes
Ann

Hi Ann,

I'd seen the first one before and loved it then and loved it this time around.

Haven't looked at the others yet but will get to them.

Thanks for sharing! :)

Anne H

That’s a fantastic site Ann.

I’d long ago heard the story of the five Sullivan brothers who died when the USS Juneau was sunk during WW2, but hadn’t known that the poor mother got the news second-hand and wrote to the Navy Department for confirmation. http://www.lettersofnote.com/2009/09/it ... -navy.html

The movie “Saving Private Ryan” was based on the regulations introduced following this tragedy.

All the best,
Alan

It is isnt' it. Has me laughing one minute, crying the next. Love the one by E B White - She doesn't answer the phone. Had me laughing out loud.

But You will then know how to talk to me had me in tears

And some of the followups are wonderful too - be sure and read the one to the letter above

Whew. That was a toughie. Need a hot drink and a lie down now. Poor woman. Don't think I'd be as benevolent in such circumstances, they'd have to peel me off the walls!
