Surname variations for Sturrock advice

Is Stroak an accepted variation for Sturrock? My ancestors seemed to be Stroaks in the 1600 - 1750s then became
Sturrocks. They were from the Angus area if that helps. As an Ogilvie I am well used to Ogilvie/Ogilvy but wonder
whether Stroak = Sturrock. Any advice would be appreciated.

Although there is no mention of Stroak in Black's Surnames of Scotland he does list several variants of Sturrock.
Storach, Storrok, Storok and Storek and given these it is entirely possible that Stroak does equate to Sturroch

PS Black lists it as a pastoral name originating in Angus and referring to sheep herding/tending.
