"Old Search" at Ancestry.com

Post by ninatoo » Sun Jun 30, 2013 8:03 am

Hi all,

According to an article at Eastman's Online Genealogy newsletter, Ancestry.com are changing their search function again.

Note that this announcement reads like an email to users of the Old Search only. I use the Old Search, but I not it yet.

That article states that only 2% of users make use of the Old Search facility. I, and many others at Eastman's site find that hard to believe. In any case, people are told they can have input into the process via this survey:

Just thought others would like to see this.

Thanks Nina - I absolutely hate the new search - with its 3000 matches - I never use it. And that was a rather biased (against old search) survey I thought.

I agree....and it reads like they are ONLY sending it to the "2%" as well. I said things on my survey like "I LOVE Old Search" and "PLEASE don't fix what is NOT broken" but I doubt they will hear my voice, or anyone else's. The fact is, if they make it too hard for me to find anything, I will be withdrawing my membership.
