Birth certificate added note

Post by jhally » Sat Jan 18, 2014 8:35 pm

I have found an extract from the county of Berwick births register for 1883 and the father is listed as being "illegitimate" but a note on the edge of the page reads" Addition of Fathers Name, see Reg. of (Cor Elct these two bits unclear) Vol 1 page 62. November 10th 1883"

Can anyone shed any light on the document this might refer to and where I might find it?

Hello and welcome to TS :D ,

The note on the edge will be a reference to the 'Register of Corrected Entries' - in this case it will show the father's name of the illegitimate child. If you click on the red button on the record page it will cost 2 credits to view.

A wee bit of help here -
