Angus Ogg

Post by joette » Mon Nov 28, 2005 5:18 pm

Looking at the remarriage of a Fraser Aunts widower she dies 1869 he remarries Elizabeth Ogg 1869.The cynic in me is now going to check the previous Census to see if she was working on his farm & biding her time.
Anyway it got me remembering a comic strip from the Daily Record "Angus Ogg" I remember he was a "scally" & got up to lots off mischief with his brother & that there was an ardent female after him.
Anybody else remember him?

Yes, I remember him and his friend Tonald - I think. Very small brains as I recall!

So David,
You've not read the Record for over 20yrs?!!
I mind Tonald the brother, Marileen the lass, Lachie the pal, Malky the cousin fae Govan,
and of course his mother was a great character too.
An excellent cartoon series.
Jack
ps - i think Angus' name only had one "G"? - OG.

Hi there
I used to love reading Angus Og in the record, it was sad when Ewan Bain died and we knew the stories would end.
there were a couple of books made during the early 70's

If you see one in a second hand book shop or charity shop snap it up :D

Hi Jim,
Snapped one up last Saturday titled, "21 Years of Angus Og by Ewen Bain".
It was in a Partick charity shop at 99p; it originally cost £1 in 1981 - so it wis a bargain.
Great reading - good clean stuff, and very, very funny.
It even jogged my memory, and that takes some doing!
A happy Jack

Also looking for any information on Rathlin Island, County Antrim, Ireland.
