Lochgilphead records.....

Hi All, Can any one tell me if there are inmate records available for the Asylumn at Lochgilphead, I have an ancestor who spent 38 years there and died in 1917. thanks, Laurie

An email to Alastair Tough at Glasgow University Archives on A.Tough@archives.gla.ac.uk might give you the answer, or at least a referral to someone who can :!:

Hi David, No records are kept at the Glasgow Uni but Alistair sugested I contact Lochgilphead NHS record library, I now await a reply from them.

Know this is slightly off topic but just to add that there are no extant records for the poorhouse in Lochgilphead.
