The "Rows" do they still exist????

Post by delmarco » Thu Apr 20, 2006 3:26 am

Evening all:
What became of the Rows that the miners inhabited? Do any still stand?
In particular, I'd like to know about the following Clydesdale rows, Northerntown Cambuslang. Flemington Rows, Cambuslang. Westburn Rows, Newton, Cambuslang, and Bells Rows Wishaw.

Thanks Bunches.....
Karen
Make it a great day!

I don't know about the area you are interested in but I'm sure there are still some in Ayrshire or were until very recently. In fact I think there is a book about them so you may be lucky and find a similar thing for your ones.
Anderson, McAlpine, Blue - Argyll
Dunn Fife /ML
Coutts, McGregor - Perth/Govan
Glen, Crow, Imrie - Angus
Scott & Pick ML
Mason - Co Down

Don't think any of these would still exist but you may find more historical information in the Housing sections of this site.

Hope this helps
