History comes to life .....

Post by LesleyB » Tue Jul 25, 2006 1:07 pm

I have a lever arch file in which I store copies & printouts of testaments downloaded from SP & other archives sources, along with any transcriptions I've typed up. Because I have been looking at this quite regularly lately, as I've been trying to finish a transcription of a long will, I had left the folder on the floor next to the PC.

This morning one of the cats  seemed very interested in the folder - I picked the folder up, and there, hiding in the "spine" was a live mouse....

No damage done to said wills - I think it must have been just a temporary hiding place from the cats. Poor thing was probably caught last night & brought in..the mouse has now been liberated! :D

Best wishes
Lesley

Hiya Lesley

What a hoot! (not for the mouse though ...)

This sort of problem doesn't affect those of us who haven't quite managed yet to sort our filing systems :P

However, it is in hand - thanks again to Russell and Jean for my wee training course.

Hi Lesley
what bravery
i'm afraid if i came accross a live mouse in my files then i probably would become another statistic in them in the DC section, that's providing one of my kids took up the "baton "and continued where i'd left off ,my daughters hamster escaped last week unbeknown to us and i made the discovery on my way to bed when checking the rooms ,so it was a case of yelling for help from a high vantage point as i could see the horrible thing scurrying around .

Hi Maggie
Aww ...I like wee mice! :D
Hamsters are OK too - but I do remember rounding up one escapee at around midnight some years ago & I must have given it a fright or been a bit adrupt 'cos it sank its little teeth into my finger - and by heck they are vicious beasties!! They don't let go ...& I had a scar of two little toothmarks for ages!!

Best wishes
Lesley

I'd be the same Mallog. give the poor wee thing a second chance!

Which made me think that in LesleyB's case "Once bitten........." doesn't apply.
