Margaret Penny Swanston (nee Clark), wife of William Lees Swanston died on 23rd December 1935 aged 51. She was born 9th April 1884 at Drochil Cottages, Newlands, Peebles)
Although she died at Polmont, Falkirk District Cemetery Records Office have no note of her being buried/cremated at any of their Cemeteries/Crematoriums. They've searched their records, including the actual Registers (in case she'd been missed) but no sign.
Her son, who's in his late eighties, has decided he wants to be buried beside his mother and he's sure she's in Polmont Cemetery. He can't remember the location, all he can remember is that she's beside a wall!
I've exhausted every possibility in this area and I'm thinking now that maybe she might have been buried somewhere down in Peebles - a family plot maybe?
Can anyone give me an idea of Churchyards and Cemeteries in and around this part of Peebles? I've had a look on Multimap and Newlands appears to be a tiny wee village.
I intend to phone Peebles Bereavement Office soon, I tried today but they had shut shop by 4 o'clock today.
Thanks,
Anne
A wee bit of a quandry . . . .
