Lambill Cemetery - Glasgow

Post by David Lang » Fri Mar 16, 2007 9:34 pm

I have just been given by my mother a big box of documents relating to my maternal grandfather's family.

Among them are title deeds to a plot in Lambhill Cemetery in the name of my grandmother's Father.

It details his internment date in 1951 , does anyone know who i contact to find who else is in the lair and where about in the cemetery it is?

I did a recce this morning on the way to work and relaise it would probably take me about 10 years to look at all the headstones!!!

I emailed a couple of lair numbers to them and received a list of the names, ages and dates. You can also make arrangements and somebody will direct you to the plot.

Kind regards,

My grandparents are buired in Lambhill cemetry,I went along and found the headstone damaged ,someone passing by said that it cost a lot of money to get repaired,so once the place was quiet we opened the boot of the car and put the headstone in the boot, once home we repaired it ourself and had it sitting in the garden.I forgot it was there untill a friend visiting said "why have you got a headstone there" we pretended we had buried them in the garden .. as it was first time in my house she believed us ...lol..we did put it back honest ...
