Hi AndrewP
I've sent off an enquiry to Gartnavel Hospital to see if they have records archived from when it was known a the RCH.

It's not Gartnavel that you need to contact, but Glasgow University Archives who look after all such records from the former Strathclyde Regional Council area.
See http://talkingscot.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6002 for the contact details.

This is the reply I received today from Mr. Alistair Tough:
It may be helpful if I add that the only record of burials or cremations created by hospitals usually takes the form of mortuary registers. Unfortunately these have commonly been destroyed when hospitals close. Doctors and their colleagues tend to be focussed on treating live patients. They are interested also in trying to understand what caused the death of patients. But they are rarely at all interested in the disposition of the remains. So, as a source of information about burial places and/or cremations this archive is likely to be of limited use.
